Avocado

There’s an avocado tree up the block. I’ve been watching it for dropped fruit daily. The avocados are best when they fall on their own.

And today, the universe provided! I spotted the downed fruit on the sidewalk. It had no bruises or blemishes.

There are so many fruit trees here. My sister’s orchard has: oranges, apple bananas, and papaya. She’s also growing pineapple in front of the house.

Being a true scrounger at heart, I love finding free stuff, especially free food. So today is a great day.
